Monad MON Spotlight July 25 2026

Rank #144 | $0.0208 | -6.0% 24h

Monad (MON) trades at $0.0208 as of July 2026, down 57.5% from its all-time high of $0.0488 set on November 26, 2025. The Layer 1 blockchain ranks #144 by market cap at $245.5 million. It's down 6.0% over 24 hours but up 8.1% over 30 days.

Monad's core pitch is parallelized EVM execution. It processes 10,000 transactions per second with 400ms block times and 800ms finality, per the project's documentation — Ethereum runs 15-30 TPS with 12-second blocks. The network keeps full EVM bytecode compatibility, so Ethereum developers deploy existing smart contracts without changes.

The ecosystem numbers back up the adoption story. Monad's total value locked hit $477 million in July 2026, up from $80 million in November 2025, with Aave V3 contributing nearly $100 million of that in deposits. MetaMask launched its Money Account exclusively on Monad on June 30, 2026, and MON jumped 29% from $0.017 to $0.023 by July 6. The network has processed over 450 million transactions and counts 3.9 million wallets as of June 30, 2026.

Watch daily active addresses on Monad mainnet next — that number will show whether the TVL growth is real usage or incentive-driven liquidity parked for points.

What Is Monad?

Existing blockchains like Ethereum are too slow and too expensive for applications that need frequent, cheap updates: high-frequency trading, gaming, real-time data feeds. Ethereum's Layer 1 processes roughly 15-20 transactions per second, per Etherscan data, and gas fees swung between $2 and $50 in 2026. Monad's answer is rebuilding the EVM from scratch for parallel execution.

Instead of processing transactions one after another, Monad runs them simultaneously using a technique called superscalar pipelining. Its consensus layer, MonadBFT, produces a new block every 400 milliseconds and finalizes it in about 800 milliseconds. Since its mainnet launch in November 2025, the chain has targeted 10,000 transactions per second with near-zero fees — a 500x to 1,000x jump over Ethereum Layer 1, according to Monad's own documentation.

Monad is fully compatible with Ethereum at the bytecode level but runs far faster without leaning on Layer 2 rollups or sharding. Solidity contracts written for Ethereum run on Monad unmodified, MetaMask works out of the box, and Foundry and Hardhat are both supported. Bitcoin processes about 7 TPS and isn't Turing-complete, so it can't run smart contracts at all; Ethereum processes transactions sequentially and caps contract code at 24 KB, while Monad raises that ceiling to 128 KB and adds precompiles like secp256r1 for passkey verification. Monad also charges gas based on the transaction's gas limit rather than what it actually uses, which blocks a specific denial-of-service vector in its asynchronous execution model.

As of July 25, 2026, MON trades at about $0.0188 with a circulating supply of 11.83 billion tokens, per Gemini data. Of the 100 billion total supply, 50.6% was still locked at mainnet launch, with unlocks starting in the second half of 2026. The number to watch is daily active addresses crossing 500,000 — that would separate real users from airdrop hunters.

Key Features

  • Parallel Execution: Monad uses optimistic parallel execution to process independent transactions simultaneously across multiple CPU cores-
  • MonadBFT Consensus: This custom Byzantine fault-tolerant mechanism delivers 400ms block times and 800ms finality (two slots)-
  • Asynchronous Execution: Monad decouples consensus from execution so nodes agree on transaction ordering first, then execute with the full block time—unlike Ethereum where execution gets roughly 100ms out of a 12-second block-
  • Native Compilation (JIT): The network compiles frequently-used EVM bytecode to native machine code instead of interpreting it instruction-by-instruction, accelerating execution-
  • MonadDB: A custom database engineered for efficient state access that allows validators to run on consumer-grade hardware—32GB RAM, two 2TB SSDs, and a 16-core 4.5GHz processor—assembled for approximately $1,500-

  • Competition from other projects in the same space

Price Outlook

Monad (MON) trades at $0.0208, down 57.5% from its $0.0488 all-time high. Market cap sits at $245.5M. The previous ATH at $0.0488 marks the next major resistance, with a nearer one around $0.0250 based on the recent range.

MON is up 8.1% over 30 days but down 3.7% over 7 days — mixed momentum. The level to watch is whether it holds the $0.0200 support area on its way toward $0.0250.

Monad's valuation still rests on unproven Layer 1 claims: 10,000 transactions per second and near-zero fees. The bull case is that its parallelized EVM gets adopted; the bear case is that a $245.5M market cap is hard to justify against competing smart contract platforms until usage shows up. Track daily transaction volume around the $0.0200 support level for the next signal.

Our Verdict

Monad (MON) trades at $0.0208 with a $245.5M market cap as of July 2026. CoinGecko puts the token 57.5% below its $0.0488 all-time high, which suggests the market still hasn't priced in confidence on execution. The bull case rests on Monad's claimed 10,000 transactions per second and near-zero fees. The bear case: MON ranks #144, adoption is still unproven, and the technicals are mixed. Watch whether on-chain activity climbs and transaction growth holds above current levels — that's what would put $0.0488 back in reach.
